What is Health?

According to the World Health Organisation(WHO):

Health is a state of complete physical, mental, or social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

To have a healthy body means all the parts and systems of your body are working efficiently.

To have good health, is one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself. Health is vitality.

It all starts with looking after your inside first. Have you heard how fit people could sometimes drop dead while exercising? There is a difference between being fit physically, but unhealthy on the inside. How's that possible you ask?

In a simple explanation: Cells are the basic unit structure of all living things and our body is made up of cells all assembled together; lots of them-trillions! Cells have a membrane which is like a thin wall, and it controls food particles that we eat going into the cell, as well as eliminating waste products out of the cell.

Energy from food are stored in the cells, because cells breakdown a molecule called adenosine triphosphate(ATP) which in turn releases energy that fuels the body. Therefore, it is very important that we look after our cells because the quality of our life is built on the quality on the life of your cells. If our cells are not healthy, it can't function well, to keep us energised and alive.

Let's take the first step to looking after our cells to give us the quality of life we derserve!
